Can a single piece of gear define one’s photographic style? For Fernando Martins, the answer is ‘yes.’ A born-again film shooter, Fernando picked the hobby back up in 2011 and immediately began documenting his then-hometown of Lisbon, Portugal.
Fernando primarily works with a Nikon 20mm F3.5 lens, which is wider than the focal lengths employed by most street shooters. But he leans into the lens’ unique characteristics brilliantly, producing beautiful and haunting images. Follow along as he takes you on a journey through European cities, as he learns to work in harmony with his gear and conquer the ultra-wide.
