Dreamstime acts as an agency providing quality images to professionals of the industry, as well as helping professional or amateur photographers sell their portfolio online.
Anyone can become a member of the Dreamstime community. You may apply to become a member by registering and uploading your first files. If they are approved, you will see them on your personal account. If they are not selected for inclusion in the database, you will be notified via email, including the reason and/or suggestions for improvement. After solving the problem, you can upload them again.

For each transaction, the photographer receives a 30-50 percent fee. Exclusive images receive an additional 15 percent bonus, while exclusive photographers enjoy a 60 percent fee and an additional bonus of $0.20 for each approved submission. Dreamstime awards the highest royalties in the industry, according to a study of PDN Magazine.
Any photographer may request to be paid for his/her sales on Dreamstime.com as soon as the balance has reached $100 and the photographer submits a payment request from the Management Area. We currently send payments by bank check, Paypal or Moneybookers.
What kind of images should you upload?
Dreamstime is looking for well defined commercial concepts, marketable good compositions with creative insight, high technical level in terms of color, definition, lighting. Keep in mind the generic essence of stock imagery. This is true for the main theme of the image, too. The subject should be as generic as possible, while composition clear, without elements that can distract the viewer from the main theme. One good way to get a better image of what's hot in stock, is to browse through best selling images. This way you'll get a visual, thus more effective help in understanding and achieving success as a stock photographer on Dreamstime.
Please do not give in to the first difficulties. Keep in mind that it is against the interest of the photographer to waste hours of work to prepare the files, load them on the site, enter keywords for images that are not sold. Similarly, it is against the interests of the agency to employ the time of their editors to control thousands of images that are unlikely to find buyers and occupying space on the database. A selection is necessary because the interest of all and to guarantee buyers. Consider also that some images, though technically perfect and artistically valuable, do not attract buyers. It is very useful to read the discussions in the forum to be updated on the news and deal with our own beliefs with the advice of other photographers, editors and buyers.
